Attachment is an interesting thing to look at. When you think of attachment what comes to your mind?

To me, attachment had always to do with other people or things. As in, you could become attached to a partner, a parent, a sibling, a friend or to something physical, palpable. But how about being attached to an idea, an ideology or a fragment of our past? How about attachment to how things used to be? An attachment where you are so desperate to make 'who is' be what once he/she was and are consumed by frustration and desperation because what was can no longer be.

Is perception what influences attachment? Such as when you perceive that the loss of an idea is the loss of oneself even if that self is not fully functional. As there's a choice between the devil you know vs the devil you have to discover if you let go of the devil you know.

We are so fearful of what can be that we could be choosing pain instead of taking a leap of faith and moving towards a more peaceful existence. By that I don't mean taking big actions and making crazy big changes, I simply mean: choosing to look at the current life we are living with a different perspective. I really think that a change of perception is a must for any good change to actually take place.
